Maagrita Exports Ltd.,founded in the year 2004,has establishedits state of art plantlocated in the Agri Export Zone (AEZ) at Nillakottai Food Park,just 35 kilometers from the famous temple city of Madurai in Tamil Nadu.
It has been set up under the aegis of the Agricultural and Processed Foods Export Development Authority (APEDA) of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India and the State Industries Promotion Corporation (SIPCOT) of TamilNadu.
The plant, comprising a Packhouse and Processing Facility.is setup ina built up area of approzimately 35,000 square feet, on a plot area of approximately 8.6 acres.The plant is designed as per international standards, incorporates a range of imported machines from USA, Australia, Netherlands, and South Africa.
Spacious collection centers, special ripening rooms and temperature controlled rooms are installed inthe Packhouse. The processingsection contains pulping units,steam jacketed kettles, canningequipment, fruit milland dicer, tray driers and low temperature dehydration chambers,product filling,sealingand labeling units. Infrastructure to support the plant activities include diesel generators, wood fired boiler, onsite bore well,reverse osmosis plant, effluent treatment plant and quality control laboratory.
The plantis ISO 22000:2005 certified Maagrita•s businessis B2B based,and includes both service and product offerings, to domestic as well as internationalcustomers.High quality and rel ability are cornerstones ofits business philosophy.
Government of India has identified thesouthern part ofTamil Nadu state inIndia as an Agri Export Zone (AEZ) for mangoes. AEZ by definitionis a specific region, geographic region in a country demarcated for setting up agriculture based processing industries, mainly for export purposes.
The AEZ comes under the Agricultural and Processed Foods Export Development Authority (APEDA) of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.
The name Maagrita was coined as a result of three Words viz Mango, Agriculture and TamilNadu.
